I’ve been going to Spa Excess for years and always get a room on the third floor whether there was an event or not. Just over a month ago I arrived around 10:00 a.m. on a Sunday and asked for a room on the third floor but was told you guys had an event starting at 1:00 in the afternoon and that all the rooms on the third floor were booked for your event. This is wrong guys, totally wrong. About a month later the same thing. I arrived in the morning, asked for a room on the third floor but was told all the rooms were booked/reserved for your event. Again, I had to get a room on the second floor and talked to several guys that were also upset that Spa Excess was having an event. I talked to the manager (?) and he told me that when they reserve or book all the rooms on the third floor its a guarentee that it’s money in the bank for the Spa. You’ve upset not only me who is/was a regular client of Spa Excess, but other guys who wanted a room on the third floor. Common guys this isn’t fair. Stop having all the rooms booked on the third floor just for your event. You’ve upset many guys since this was started. Is Spa Excess that desperate for money? Give us back the third floor rooms that were willing to pay for. You may not care about my reply but others do.
Richard,
I have responded to your email. But will copy what I said there:
Richard,
I am sorry that you are upset. While we host the event at Spa Excess, we do not have anything to do with the actual running of the venue. Anything to do with room planning has to do entirely with Spa Excess. We have never blocked or booked rooms. On any given day, I have only reserved one or two rooms based on volunteers. As far as I know, it was on a first come, first served basis. This is why on our newsletters, we tell people to get there early if they want to get a room. We noticed that the rooms get taken early. Btw the actual event is scheduled from 1pm to 6pm.
I have spoken to management about this. The manager’s reply was:
We only book rooms for yourself (300) and the other event helpers (usually 3 or 4). The rest are rented as people come in…whether they’re there for the event or not. First come…first served. We don’t play favourites.
Sincerely
Eric
